Need Help,
Saturday September 4th at the Kansas City Car Show.
I lost the phone number of a 1970's silver Corvette with black interior that was parked inside along the main road just a little ways from the where the tram picked up and dropped off people. The price was listed at $20,000. If anyone has the phone number or details of the person selling it, I would appreciate the information.

Thanks

I have a 1967 ElCamino with a 396 that i am in the process of replacing the cam. What I am finding is that the block is actualy a 66 casing. The differece being that they made a design change in 67. In 67 and newer The rear cam jurnal has a groove cut in the block and no groove in the cam itself where as in 66 the cam and cam bearing had the groove cut in them. So what happened is someone changed the cam prior to me and didn't have the right cam so one of the lobes failed. Now I am having trouble finding the correct cam with the groove in it. What it looks like I have to do is take it to a machine shop and have a groove cut in the one i purchased. Has anyone else ran into this.

The Racing Class you chose will depend on what kind of format you want to race in and how fast your car is.

Do you want to dial your own ET and bracket race (Hot Rod Class) or do you want to run on an index (8.0. 8.50, 9.0, 9.50, etc.), with cars that are similar to yours (Nostalgia Comp)?

Instead of just a bracket race on Friday night, how about a full 3 day drag racing program with all of the same racing classes that are at Indy in June.

This would preferably include changing the venue for the Chicagoland Nats to Route 66 Dragway, which of course is just across the street from the NASCAR track (Chicagoland Speedway), where the event is now held.

There is plenty of room for all the show cars in the grass on the spectator side of the drag strip, or in the grass parking area to the South of the pit side area. I attended the inagural event at the Speedway and it was hot and very dusty on the infield.

I think the participants would have a better time, and I'll bet Good Guys could make draw more fans and make a few more $$$$ with a full racing program.

Just returned from Corvettes at Carlisle week-end. As many of you know, parking is at a premium at their major shows as they do not allow trailers and personal vehicals on the fairgrounds. Well, I had to park and leave the tow vehical and trailer just outside gate #3 ( private property / Fike's parking )and the week-end fee ( Thursday thru Sunday ) was #140.00.....and I thought the Crown Plaza Columbus was expensive at $124.00. Well, no more paying for trailer parking for me...I'll chance my parking plans at future shows or just stay home.

Hi there,
You may park anywhere in the event to be eligible for most awards. However, if you are going for a specific award, then there are some that are specifically chosen out of our special parking areas. For instance all of our Builder's choice awards are selected from the Builders Choice parking area. Our Homebuilt Heaven awards is selected from the Homebuilt Heaven area, Muscle Car of the Year Finalist is selected from the Mighty Muscle Area and so on. These special parking areas are only on Saturdays from 8am-2pm. Here is a link to our Terrific 12 awards sheet...it will explain in detail how our special awards work with the special parking areas.

This also goes for our All American Get-Together in March, Summer Get-Together in June & our Autumn Get-Together in November...all these shows are in Pleasanton, CA. All of our National events including our West Coast Nationals in August in Pleasanton are for cars through 1972. Hope that helps.

Just joined from Canada.
I am restoring a 1956 Monarch. which is a Canadian Merc. I am putting in a 460 from a 75 Lincoln c/w c6, but eventually (money) will put in a t56 6spd stnd.
I was wondering if anyone knows / has pictures of other 56 ford/merc cars with 460 transplants? would love to see pics of how things were done.
don't want to reinvent the wheel here.

Hey guys.. New to the Goodguy's Forum. I've been a Goodguy's member for ten years or more. I like what I see so far.
I drive a 40 Chevy coupe with a 400 ci small block with 700r4 trans. My wife has a 37 Chevy with Z28 TPI with 700r4 trans. We always make Nashville and Bowling Green Goodguy events. We went to Indy about 8 years ago and plan to return soon.
