Approximately how many of the entries bring their cars by trailer?

To answer your question, in this humble poster's opinion, too many. Uh, my intention is not to open a can of worms, but since the subject is out there, some people might have a valid reason for trailering cars to events, like maybe health issues or.... hmm, can't think of another one. All I can say is, anyone who has never driven to an event is missing 50-75% of the fun. I know people that trailer their show cars to events just so the can win this trophy or that one, and that's fine if that's what trips their trigger, but as I see it, the best trophy anyone can win is a thumbs up from someone passing you on the interstate or the chips in the paint. Trophies collect dust, driving your car to the event collects memories.

I wonder how it would feel to one day "Wake Up" as opposed to "Come To"

I've trailered mine once. That was to an indoor show in Medford last Feburary. I'll probably trailer to Blackies' in three weeks too.
But, other than those two times it has been driven 17,000 miles in 4 years to all events. ..
My friends have said if they see a trailer in my driveway they would burn it !! ;~)

The answer to that question is "any is too many". All of us here at Goodguys are fans of driving!!!!!
Look for me on the road this summer in this...
If all goes well I plan to drive it to Del Mar, Puyallup, Spokane, Pleasanton (of course) and hopefully even Scottsdale in November!

Very funny Denise!!! You're right, no car is too nice to drive, it's just that sometimes the owner may be too much of a wuss to drive the nice car!

This past weekend was the World of Wheels in Chicago (Rosemont) and members of my club volunteered to help with "traffic control" getting the cars in and out which meant lots o' trailers. I gotta tell ya, I never laughed so hard watching people load their cars and fancy displays into their trailers. One guy, with a really sharp Tri-5 Chevy took close to three hours to get his car down off of the display, take the display apart and loaded up. What really got me was wrapping the tires in plastic wrap! Puh-leez! Not to mention covering the car in a clean white sheet during the disassembly process, I'm assuming to keep the dust off of it during the process, and also once inside the trailer. He must have had 6 people helping him too. I'm sure if this car is even taken to outdoor events it would be the same time consuming series of events. Every car that drove out under it's own power got a thumbs up from me.
Cars were designed for one purpose and one purpose only, to be driven, not hauled around in some climate controlled box. Vehicle trailers were designed for three things, getting new cars to dealers, towing race cars and towing broken/project cars. I know it will never happen and be difficult to police, but I'd like to see events put on by nation wide rod organizations only give awards to cars driven to events. Not to mention what a pain it is when the trailer crowd takes up 7 or 8 parking spaces in a hotel lot at an event and thinks nothing of the inconvenience it causes others.

Sometimes common sense must prevail.
Reasons to trailer:
1) With my wife and I in our two seat car there is no room, let me repeat, zero, nada, none, not any room for even so much as an overnight bag. And I've yet to find anybody around here who's willing to carry our crap for us!
2) Our car has no wipers, no top, and tires that are down right scary in the rain. I've been caught out in the rain enough times to know I don't like it and I have no desire to kill myself.
3) Once at the destination, there is no way to secure the car in a motel parking lot. It has no locks of any kind. An eight year old kid could hot wire the simple ignition circuit. Not to mention minor things that would be easy to steal like, oh, the steering wheel, etc. And we can't put a car cover on it because of number 1)
Our car is far from being "too nice" to drive. We will and do drive it anywhere for a day trip. When we lived in SoCal we drove it from San Diego to LA and back more than once.
But if we're going anywhere overnight, the car goes in the box. And anyway, it's not a trailer, it's a mobile garage. It stays at the campground/motel and we drive back and forth to the venue.
So go ahead in your closed, lockable, roomy car with a trunk and say what you will about "trailered" cars. It would be cool if we didn't have to because, quite frankly, that big box is a pain in the butt. But I have two choices when it comes to attending out of town events. Take the car in the protable garage, or stay home.

Those are all good reasons and I have to agree to a point. But, I do know others that have a nice (not too practicle) ride and instead of spending the money on the trailer and tow vehicle they invested in a clean driver and take that on the long distances.
You are missing out on the cruise out there because when you are out on the road you ARE the show. That is probably what I enjoy most.
Regardless of this I still enjoy looking at everybody's ride once we are there. I will never think less of you because you put it on a trailer.

Yeah, OK - good reasons....but I think this accounts for about 1% of the people who trailer their cars.....

Then include me in that 1%.
Trust me when I say nobody loves a road trip more than I do.
Eventually, our '47 Mercury will be reliable enough for long trips and then it will never go in a trailer unless it's broken.

I have done both!
I am of the school that thinks any and all cars should be driven.
That said sometimes when traveling a long distance to an event I trailer my old girl not because she is a trailer queen but because she is a real deal shade tree mechancic build and to be honest she may breakdown and that could ruin a weekend for several people and if I got my trailer well it aint no big deal we fixer or park her on the trailer and "the show goes on"....Go Times Good Times!!!!
Here's a good example
One year I drove 3 hours one way to the Columbus event only to pull into the lot a bust a hole in the oil pan!
Thanks to the boys over at Jegs we go her fixed and managed to cruise all weekend and the drive home......disaster averted but it could have been a real bummer for the whole family if we had to call a wrecker and for a ride that far from home.
So drive them, trailer them, push, pull or drag them, just get out to an event and support them!

It doesn't matter how far or close you are to home, aside from smashing it to bits, your car can always be fixed while out on the road.
