classic car insurance, grundy vs hagerty 4 Years, 7 Months ago
I've been insured through Grundy for several years. Never a problem w/them. In fact they where very good w/me when I had a claim for some damage one of my cars sustained while parked in the garage. (Some stuff fell of a loft above and damaged the fender and hood). My insurance agent has asked me to switch to Hagerty, something to do w/them and their dealings. I can stay w/Grundy it's my choice. Anyone have any insight or opinion on this?

Both are excellent companies for classic car insurance. I have had both over the years. Once I found Grundy though I never went back to Hagerty. Hagerty is way more expensive then Grundy for the exact same coverage. Call them directly and get a quote. You do not have to go thru your regular insurance agent. Why does he want you to switch? My guess, higher commission.

I've been with Grundy for many years and have(and still would!) recommend them to anyone with a collector car.Their service is first class and so is all their staff.

Personally, I have Grundy. I've never heard anything negative about either though.

ive had haggerty, condon and skelly,,and now grundy,, i go direct thru CHUCK 2nd in command at GRUNDY,,, and i pay less for 2 cars with agreed value then i did for one with a less insured non agreeed value at both of the other companies i listed,,

i have a frind that had a claim ,,was paid very quickly with no questions,,that meens a lot to me,,and GRUNDY has almost no restrictions,,,and now including towing and other travel perks when out with your collector car,,,i insure both these cars less then 360 a year and a inclosed trailer,,

GRUNDY gets my vote,,

I've had Grundy for two of my cars now. When I last went shopping I found them very responsive! this means a lot! I've been blessed to not have to make a claim yet but they also had better pricing for the same $$ & coverage of insurance (agree'd value) Iv'e always done my own shopping for price etc. You really want to know who your dealing with, thats my motto...

I've got Chubb as well. Agreed value $50k for $408 a year. I havent' had a claim yet (hope I never do) but it seems pretty good and I like the little customer service type things they do. Around Christmas last year they sent out Keith Martin's Guide to Collector Cars. It is a really thick book with listings for all the top cars sold at auction the past year. It was REALLY cool and a really nice touch.

I just had a claim with Grundy for my 1933 Ford Coupe (ouch). They sent an appraiser to write an estimate within a week. I received a check for the damage a week later. Great service! Grundy gets my vote.

As a former insurance agent who sold Hagarty through Allstate I can only say that I insure my own classic cars through Grundy. There was a time when they were about equal but during the last few years Hagarty became very expensive and seems to have lost the good customer service they used to enjoy.

May be the policy terms are vary in different places. But the agents can clearly know about the all conditions of insurance so contact with the agent is good step. Buy cheap car insurance

When it comes to vehicles, classic cars are absolutely at the top of the pyramid, with their amazing features setting them far apart from the rest of the crowd. Unfortunately, as is typical for anything that attracts attention, classic cars tend to attract a decent share of thieves and vandals. So, I discuss how to get cheap antique and classic car insurance to protect your pride and joy! visit Insurance4Motortrade Now
